Bladee is actually good
A breakdown of Be nice 2 me by Bladee by Henry Martin
Bladee’s song Be nice 2 me is one of the most conceptually and aesthetically consistent songs ever made. In this song, the Drain gang member fuses His dreamy cloud rap roots with some colorful flavorful undertones deeper in the mix. Bladee is not always known for being versatile, however, I’ll argue this song is extremely versatile.
‘Be nice 2 me’ flows with or without the album no matter how you’re listening to it, Which Bladee shows off with a lot of his songs. He also proves himself with his vocal abilities which he especially emphasizes with his eccentric rapping and being capable of switching up his flow when the beat get’s chopped up near the end. Bladee is well known for his unique approach to the way he uses autotune compared to a lot of other artists who use autotune to sound good at singing, However that’s not what Bladee does. He uses autotune more for the aesthetic purposes that make his songs rather than enhancing the pitch of his voice which is not only apparent on this track but also the rest of his catalog. Bladee sings about a wide range of feelings that a lot of teenagers can relate to which gives him a very strong young audience. He covers topics such as hiding his feelings, and not wanting to talk to people who don't treat him right. A lot of rappers cover similar topics but I believe his unique style makes this more appealing for teenagers. This song is great for when you’re drained out with your shield gang. Bladee is also for scholars. Some people have a hard time stomaching Bladee which usually is the case for older people or they’re just not drainers. That’s why I chose this song in particular because it really just sums up the current generation and I feel that is why older people don’t listen to his music. I think Bladee is better than Carti. I used to be a big Carti fan until I heard this song so that really emphasizes some of the power Bladee has to reach other audiences. This song is thematic poetry and he spits in this song and honestly, I can’t blame him. This song just has so much flavor and screams new age I would feel wrong not to write about it. I feel that even though the production can be hazy at times Bladee still comes through to deliver a monumental vocal performance that completely overshadows the mix. That is why I think this song is an anthem for the current generation and easily one of the most influential and greatest songs of all time. Maybe one day an artist will come along and make something better but until then it’s drain gang for life.
